The Piano The Piano The Piano (title in Brazil and Portugal, in the original in English The Piano) is an Austro-French-New Zealander film from 1993, of the drama genre and written and directed by New Zealander Jane Campion. The film is considered one of the exponents of cinema in the 1990s. At just 11 years old, Anna Paquin became the second youngest actress to win an Oscar, after Tatum O'Neal for Paper Moon. [2] The Piano was the last film watched by Nirvana leader Kurt Cobain. [3] Holly Hunter played the piano herself in most scenes. [4] The piano portrays the painful trajectory of Ada McGrath, a woman who has not spoken since the age of six and moves to newly colonized New Zealand. In the company of her daughter, she meets her future husband, with whom she has no sympathy. To make matters worse, the groom, Alisdair Stewart, refuses to carry Ada's piano, which is his greatest passion. However, the administrator George Baines, immediately interested in the woman, acquires the instrument and promises to return it if she taught him to play it. Over time, such piano lessons become sexual encounters and the two end up discovering the true master Namaste!
