homoaffectiveness and relationships
Homo-affectivity
The relationship between homosexuals gained a new term, created by the judge and jurist Maria Berenice Dias, who argues that affection is the most relevant factor in the attraction that a person feels for the same sex. According to the Judge, homoaffection goes beyond sexual intercourse, it is, a bond created by affection, affection and the desire to be with the other in harmonious coexistence.
Science and most countries have already convinced themselves that there is nothing wrong with being homosexual. Now it is the turn of religions. This 21st century is witnessing a slow but continuous opening of temples. Pope Francis has already asked for their reception in Catholic churches. Presbyterian and Methodist denominations celebrate gay marriages. Anglican and Lutheran churches ordain bishops with this guidance. In Brazil, there is a great growth in the so-called inclusive churches, following a theology that preaches that human diversity is a divine work. The first came in 1998. Currently, there are more than 30 different denominations in the country. But here, gay evangelicals are in the midst of the shooting that traditional Christians and the LGBT community (Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Transvestites and Transsexuals and Transgenders) established in recent years, when homosexuals started demanding rights and protection from the State . Even criticized by the two trenches, they show that a communion between faith and affection is possible.
Although there are still many conservatives who fight against homo-affective relationships, we are going through a moment of universal awareness about respect for others, in which the diversity and plurality of societies has been increasingly discussed.
Nowadays, in many countries, two people of the same sex can marry, in Brazil there is still a long way to go, but here, it is possible to recognize by law a stable union between homosexuals. A measure that authorizes transvestites and transsexuals to be treated by their social names in educational institutions and public service agencies has also been in force since March 2015, in addition to the use of bathrooms, changing rooms and other spaces separated by gender. according to the sexual option.
It is important to recognize that people are free to make their choices, just as we think the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton is beautiful, we need to see the beauty of love for a homosexual couple.
At Diversidade em Ciência, Ricardo Alexino Ferreira interviews Júlio Assis Simões, professor at the Department of Anthropology at the Faculty of Philosophy, Letters and Human Sciences at USP, who talks about the transformations of homo-affective relationships in the last decades.
According to Júlio Simões, it is possible to observe the trajectory of sexuality, ranging from the stigma of sodomy to the citizenship of homo-affection. "Significant changes are also observed in terminology and social subjects", he says.
Julio Simões is a leading researcher at the Center for the Study of Social Markers of Difference at USP (Numas). He is also the author of the book The Dilemma of Popular Participation: Ethnography of a case (Editora Marco Zero / Anpocs). He also organized the books Race, Ethnicity, Gender and Sexuality in Comparative Perspective (Editora Terceiro Nome) and On the Rainbow Trail: From the homosexual movement to LGBT (Editora Fundação Perseu Abramo).
