Druid rituals [Druid study]

Druid rituals [Druid study] Druidic rituals usually involve a blessing to the place, a request for peace, offerings to the local spirits - so that there is mutual acceptance in the place -, offerings to the deities, healing actions, divination with ogham, physical actions (like going through the fires of beltane or perform ritual dances), prayers - circular movement to mark a sacred area around a central point -, evocations / offerings to ancestors and deities, honor to the beings of the three kingdoms (sea, land and sky) and a banquet ritual where drink - usually beer and mead - and food - breads, cakes, grains, fruits - are shared among all participants. Ritual "Ritual is poetry in the world of actions" This phrase by Ross Nichols describes the nature of the ritual well: in poetry, words are arranged in a specific way in order to evoke a specific emotional response in the audience; in the ritual, the actions and symbolism expressed in them take the place of words, and the audience includes the visible and invisible participants of the ritual. Another definition is that the ritual is the myth made visible - there is a myth behind each rite, there is a rite implicit in the report of each myth - and if, as already said, a myth takes place out of time, the rite makes it manifest in the here-and-now so that we, who existed in time, have access to it. Since the ritual is poetry, and therefore language (in which we speak to the Sacred and the Sacred speaks to us), it is necessary to learn its "vocabulary" first: myths, stories, archeology, fantasy, provide the images and concepts that will be articulated in form of acts during the rite. For example, in my morning rite, at the kitchen altar, I begin by pouring water into the chalice, and this evokes the primordial Waters flowing from the universal abyss to initiate Creation; I light the candle, and that is the descent of the Heavenly Fire that is the spark of Life; I touch the column on the wall, and I establish the World Tree as the Axis around which the World is organized; I turn to the Directions (east, west, north, south, above, below, center) and define the universal limits; I invoke the Gods, Ancestors and Spirits, who populate and order the newly created Cosmos; thank you and finish - and then I can use Water to bless the tea water, which I then heat on the stove that was lit from the Fire, and to which I add the herbs consecrated by the Tree, and so the 3 Kingdoms are united in mine cup: that is, every morning I recreate the world again, and by this act I bless my breakfast and the day that begins (and before anyone asks, this rite takes no more than a full minute - no need to hours of incessant recitation of verses in any of the Celtic languages!) Of course, a ritual like this presupposes a domestic altar, time, privacy and silence to be performed as described: what if one or all of these factors are missing, does that mean that rituals are not possible? Think about that meditation of the blood and the 3 Kingdoms ... now, imagine that it is applied to the cup of tea (or coffee) that you receive in the morning at home or drink at the corner bakery or when you arrive at work, with the corresponding visualizations and recited in a few seconds: done with the right intention, this ceremony is as effective as the other (and has the advantage that it can be done in front of other people without attracting unwanted attention!) Diversity, then, remains the key word: each of us lives in different living conditions, and the solution that serves for some will not help others, so it is up to the individual to observe their environment and life routine and see the which can be modified to facilitate the practice and what will not change and requires the individual to adapt to the situation in the best possible way, knowing that in any case Gods, Ancestors and Spirits give greater value to the goodwill of those who try to approach them as you can.
